RFQ

Worm and worm gears can be made in a variety of diametrical pitches, modules and pressure angles.
Sprockets can be manufactured in tooth forms in English or Metric measurements.
Fine to heavy diametrical pitch tooth forms can be manufactured in lengths up to 8 feet.
Dayton Gear has broaching machines with capacity up to and including 100 ton pulling pressure and 72 inch maximum length of broach.
Dayton Gear’s extensive tooling inventory allows for the manufacture of any combination of helical gears in both English and Metric dimensions.
Gearbox restoration is the cost effective alternative to equipment replacement.

FOOD PROCESSING

Problem: Steel pinion gear causing pre-mature wear in mating internal six foot diameter gear.

Customer Objective: Solve problem of the pre-mature wear of the internal gear. Transfer wear to the mating pinion as internal gear re-placement cost is $47,000.00 with a 14 week lead time.

Dayton Gear Solution: Re-design the pinion gear utilizing a high strength, self lubricating plastic material. Pinion has become the replacement gear in the set. This solution has been cost effective to allow for the purchase of multiple pinions to act as backup. Replacement life for the pinion is 12 to 15 months.
